Curtain Wall

This project was developed by Nicolas Hyllaire as a student from École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Toulouse and was submited to the WAS awards 2017 under the Residential category.

What should be the values for apartments used by several persons, each of them having its own living habits?

The space has been organised into blocks enclosing a system of modular and curtains walls that partition it, and allows meeting the demands of different uses.
Through this research focusing on user adaptable housing, I tried to find an alternative way to the usual system. Thus, rooms are no longer strictly dedicated to a single use, but enhance diversity. The partitioning system, with the “usage-blocks” suggests the occupant to live the space as he wants to, modifying and reinventing it through the time.

It is for me an essential point for housing to be able to transform with time.
