This project was developed by Alberto Pabón Medina as a student from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Málaga and was submited to the WAS awards 2017 under the Facilities category.
Secondary school Ntra. Sra. De Lourdes in Barroso street, within the Miravalle urbanization in Coín (Málaga), on the outskirts of the town. Specifically, the proposal is inserted in the back of it, bordering intensive crop fields to the southeast and northwest, with the riding school Lourdes to the northwest, and with the institute itself to the northeast.
The project if located in an empty esplanade of land without an established use by the institute. It is a space without topography (flat plot). In relation to the context, it is located in an urbanization of houses generally linked to the crop, since at first, this urbanization was designed for farmers. The average height of the houses is B + 1 (6m). This height will not be exceeded in the project.

The main idea of ​​the project is based on following the line of prismatic forms that characterize the institute, thus consisting of 7 modules with an independent white brick finish of different heights making the visitor understand from the outside; the interior space.

An institute is an environment of exchanges and interactions in common areas of meetings, that is why, it is intended to introduce this concept to the proposal by means of dilated interior patios, as an Andalusian patio where the different pieces interact with each other, working as a whole, and with the context that surrounds them, creating a kind of mini citadel.

The interior of each piece has a different frequency color, creating in the meeting areas (patios), a colorful environment resulting from the visual relationship between pieces by means of large gaps.

The plot has three independent accesses, filmed, from the institute itself and from the riding school for weekends when the institute is closed.
