The Lisboa Apartments
The Lisboa apartments are designed as models of sustainable, high-density urban form. The scheme comprises two rows of apartments. The project similarly develops the idea of a synergistic mixture of spaces for living and working. Providing a range of accommodation to suit families as well as professionals.
The buildings are arranged in three clusters and are vertically staggered to form a natural barrier between the waterfront and the busy road bounding the northern edge of the site. The fluid contours of the landscaped grounds provide a dynamic inward focus.
The project takes the use of concrete a step further to set new standards in construction quality. The pre-fabricated components enable a fast-track construction programme and improve both the buildings energy efficiency and durability, thus influencing the project’s long-term sustainability. The external finishes of the building have deliberately been chosen to age well. The building while respecting the scale and proportion of the location, makes a civilised contribution to its urban regeneration.
